Experimental Study on Activated Diatomite Modified Asphalt Pavement in Deep Loess Area

چکیده
In order to effectively prevent and control the rutting problem of asphalt pavement in deep loess area Eastern Gansu reduce road diseases, diatomite was added into mixture for laboratory tests. Through Marshall test test, optimum mix proportion mixture, optimal amount this were determined. The performance activated SBS is compared analyzed through tests on-site paving. results show that under same ambient temperature, has advantages lower surface high stability, low-water permeability coefficient than modified pavement. addition, by fitting fatigue data these two pavements, it found life more sensitive change stress level better resistance. Therefore, concluded use can improve temperature stability pavement, prolong service life, cost construction, which be popularized.

Short-Term Aging Effect on Properties of Sustainable Pavement Asphalts Modified by Waste Rubber and Diatomite
Waste utilization has gained more and more interest. In this study, crumb rubber and diatomite were used to modify asphalt binder and the short-term aging effects on the properties of modified asphalts were evaluated. Three kinds of modified asphalt were prepared; they are diatomite modified asphalt (DA), crumb rubber modified asphalt (RA), and diatomite and crumb rubber compound modified aspha...
متن کاملInvestigation of Clay Balls in Asphalt Pavement
Clay ball is a pavement surface defect which refers to a clump in which clay or dirt is 8 mixed with hot asphalt mixture. Clay ball is typically caused by a combination of aggregate 9 contamination of clay or soil, high aggregate moisture, and low production temperature at the 10 asphalt plant. It usually appears a few weeks or months after paving under traffic load, after being 11 liquefied an...
متن کاملPatch Distress Detection in Asphalt Pavement Images
Pavement condition assessment is an indispensable constituent in maintaining roadway infrastructure. Current practices for pavement condition assessment are labor intensive which introduce subjectivity in pavement rating and are time consuming. Automated methods rely on full 3D reconstruction of the pavement surface which introduces high equipment and computation costs. This paper presents a me...
متن کاملPothole detection in asphalt pavement images
Pavement condition assessment is essential when developing road network maintenance programs. In practice, the data collection process is to a large extent automated. However, pavement distress detection (cracks, potholes, etc.) is mostly performed manually, which is labor-intensive and time-consuming. Existing methods either rely on complete 3D surface reconstruction, which comes along with hi...
